In an ideal location, surrounded by the Loire castles, 2 km from the royal city of Amboise in a bucolic park overlooking the river, Château de Pray provides the perfect setting for a decidedly gourmet journey! Its gastronomic restaurant, which has earned a Michelin star, invites you to discover a subtle cuisine with flavours from near and far in an atypical location: a spacious and light partially underground dining room.

*The restaurant will be open on April 13, June 1, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29, July 14, July 20, July 27, August 3, August 10, August 17, August 24, and closed on the following Wednesdays.

Our troglodyte room to welcome you

A feast for the eyes! Our restaurant, just a stone’s throw from Amboise, welcomes you to our beautiful troglodyte dining room, L’Orangerie. This unique 120 m² room is 4 metres in height with a stone ceiling carved into the hillside. Its two bay windows with wide arched windows open onto the castle’s main courtyard, letting in natural daylight. 
Our team will be delighted to welcome you whatever the season to discover the gastronomic cuisine of our Chef Arnaud Philippon.

Chef Arnaud Philippon will cook you up a treat

Then comes the real feast! Chef Arnaud Philippon and his team will take you on a culinary journey that is sure to delight you! With a diploma in hospitality, Arnaud Philippon learned the ropes in Alsace at the Michelin-starred hotel Hostellerie du Rosenmeer. After a stint in Brittany, he spent 2 years in Brussels at the renowned restaurant Comme Chez Soi, with 2 Michelin stars, before joining Château de Pray in 2010. He assisted Frédéric Brisset before taking his place as head chef. Arnaud Philippon’s talent can be seen in his subtle, punchy and original cuisine.
